Upon graduating from Florida A&M College of Law in 2006, Antonya immediately began her career as an Assistant State Attorney in Ft. Lauderdale, FL where she has argued numerous motions and has tried over 60 jury trials. She has litigated cases in the Sexual Battery/Child Abuse, Felony Trial, and Traffic Homicide special units as well as being a Felony Trial Supervisor. After 6 years as a prosecutor, Ms. Johnson continued her career in litigation joining a large firm representing major financial institutions in creditor disputes. She then joined a small firm representing medical providers in personal injury protection lawsuits. Antonya has recently returned to the State Attorney’s office to her true passion of criminal litigation and currently prosecutes cases in the Career Criminal Unit. She served as President of the T.J Reddick Bar Association from 2012-2013 and currently serves on the TJRBA’s executive board as Board Member at Large. She is also a member of the Bench and Bar Committee of the Broward County Bar Association. In 2014, Antonya was selected by Sun Sentinel’s Legacy Magazine as one of the 25 Most Influential Black Women in Business and Leadership in South Florida. She is also a 2015/16 Florida Bar Leadership Academy fellow.
